[emacs-berlin] Emacs period tracker

Hey all,
I'm planning to switch from a commercial period tracker app due to frequent
data leaks and gdpr breaches.

I'm wondering if I can track periods with org-mode in emacs?

Or, putting it another way: is there a way to track reccuring events that
span more than one day (with varying length) in org-mode?
