Sunday, December 9, 9 pm: Le livre d'image (Jean-Luc Godard)

Even 30 years into "late Godard", be prepared for surprises. Because even 
though a lot of what you're going to see, including many shots and sequences, 
looks like you've seen it before - superimpositions of cinema, painting, text, 
music and voice (in Histoire(s) du cinéma), ultra-high saturation and contrast 
(in Éloge de l'amour), seemingly disjunct fragments (in Film socialisme), or 
just images that look really weird (in Adieu au langage) - Le livre d'image 
belongs to a different genre of film than its predecessors, and hints at a 
cinematic form that hardly anyone, not even Godard, has ever tried to explore.
