Hello Emacsers,
I relocated from Silicon Valley to Berlin at the end of last month and
am looking forward to meeting new people. Ich kann auch Deutsch, aber
angeblich nutze diese Liste Englisch.
I first used emacs in 1984 when I was a beginning graduate student at
Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where emacs was developed. In
fact, when I was a student, I sometimes saw RMS on campus or somewhere
nearby. I've spoken with him a few times in recent years, for example
at the LibrePlanet gathering hosted by Free Software Foundation.
Back in the 1980's, I had the famous spiral-bound emacs yellow book.
I think that my former boyfriend still has my copy.
My favorite emacs features are the rectangle-manipulation and
register-related ones. I'm running version 30.1, which is what Debian
Testing currently provides.
Enough for now,
Alison
