LADY OF RIO FUNK MC TATI QUEBRA -BARRACO, WITH SPECIAL GUEST GABRIEL MUZAK,
LAUNCHING HIS SOLO CD BOSSA NOMADE.

TATI won her nickname Qebra- Barraco after her first success "Barraco1"
which has 2 meanings "to go out with sex" and "to create a major
confusion" both of which have associations with the singer's personality.
This Ex-Kindergarten cook still lives in cidade de deus (city of god) in
the western region of Rio.
Tati is known as one of the few female stars in the predominantly
masculine musical world of funk. Rio Funk was influenced by Miami bass
at the beginning of the eighties with ist erotic songs and sincopated
beat and from the nineties on began to transform into a particular style
of music within the hip-hop culture.
Tati is recognised as the feminist voice of funk. In her lyrics she
openly describes her sexual tastes and her desires as a well-known woman
who has no great physical attraction but uses her power to conquer what
she wants.
Very different from the image portrayed by american rap, the woman who
obtains wealth through beauty and power, tati lets it all hang out and
says, that the best thing is to bust the place up, or rather what
interests her is sex and the rest is a bonus.
Rio Funk was isolated as a favela sub-culture but it's come down from
the hillsides to reap success as with Tati's invitation to take part ind
Sao Paulo fashion week, Brazil's most important fashion market, as guest.

GABRIEL MUZAK (ex The Funk Fucker) presents the show of his first solo
CD Bossa Nomade. The singer guitar player & composer has a unique way of
mixing James Brown type beats with African drums mixing in Rap, Ska and
even Bossa Nova. His CD which is entirely independent has already won
the critics and was nominated for the best electronic videoclip in the
last MTV Brazil award
