A small follow-up from what was discussed afterwards: so there is the
function "insert-image" to insert an image right into any buffer. And
within org-mode, there is the function "org-toggle-inline-images". E.g.
to see the results of a plantuml source block:

#+BEGIN_SRC plantuml :file /tmp/comp.svg
[Foo] --> BAR
#+END_SRC

#+RESULTS:
[[file:/tmp/comp.svg]]


Running "M-x org-toggle-inline-images" will display the result.
