Dear Azer, Dear everyone,

thanks again for bringing up the topic of writing in Emacs which is quite dear to me. I just send a couple of links from my bookmarks which helped me to find the setup I like, maybe it is of interest for some of you.

Jay Dixits talk about Emacs for writers:

Vim Valley Talk on replacing Scrivener with Emacs and Vim (unfortunately I do not know the authors name so I can not give due credit):

By the way this is Scrivener:

Some other things:
- org-bullets: https://github.com/sabof/org-bullets <https://github.com/sabof/org-bullets>
- Coming from Vim I missed the quick way to navigate around in text so I gave evil mode ( yes the OTHER editor) a try but did not stick with it in the end: https://github.com/emacs-evil/evil

- here are some navigating tips and tricks I learned and which I use now instead
(again) Magnar Sveen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZkpmegySnc <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZkpmegySnc>
and Mickey Petersen: https://www.masteringemacs.org/article/effective-editing-movement
- expand-region: https://github.com/magnars/expand-region.el <https://github.com/magnars/expand-region.el> (also helpful if you write a film script or dialogue for example using quotes or brackets a lot)

Two themes I like:
- for night time: solarized theme: https://github.com/bbatsov/solarized-emacs
- for the daytime: dracula theme: https://draculatheme.com/emacs/

and I use git / magit for all my text files as well and also to sync between different computers

To close off: Johannes Schmidt about Niklas Luhmanns „Zettelkasten“ (in german language): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NbncA7bDl70 <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NbncA7bDl70>
