In 1966, George Maciunas quietly demonstrated via his Flux Film
Anthology that at the dawn of the information age, merely claiming
that a film exists was enough to make a film real. Three further
works by George Landow, Richard Serra and Hollis Frampton from the
70s also explore the act of reading over time, with the use of
music playing a particular role here. Carried by Monteverdi's
madrigal "Zefiro torna", the program ends with a colorful, sad
farewell to Maciunas from his Lithuanian companion Jonas Mekas. <br>

George Maciunas demonstriert 1966 in der von ihm
zusammengestellten Flux Film Anthology auf leichteste Weise, dass
am Übergang zum Informationszeitalter bereits die Behauptung der
Existenz eines Filmes genügt, um einen Film real werden zu lassen.
Drei weitere Arbeiten von George Landow, Richard Serra und Hollis
Frampton aus den 70er Jahren beschäftigen sich dann unter anderem
ebenfalls mit dem Akt des Lesens im Zeitablauf, hier spielt auch
der Einsatz von Musik eine bestimmte Rolle. Getragen von
Monteverdis Madrigal "Zefiro torna" endet das Programm in einer
farbenfrohen und traurigen Verabschiedung von Maciunas durch
seinen litauischen Weggefährten Jonas Mekas. <br>
